Marshall Islands hosts Micronesian Games Council General Assembly
The Micronesian Games Council’s General Assembly met on 17 January 2023, at the Marshall Islands Resort to review the amended Charter.
With nine of the ten member jurisdictions present, the Council unanimously approved the amendments presented after two years of input and meetings.
The charter was presented to the members by Secretary-General Joey Miranda III after working with the review committee consisting of President Aurelio Joab, Treasurer Terry Sasser, Northern Mariana Islands MGA President Jerry Tan and Secretary-General Valeria Hofschneider, Palau MGA President Frank Kyota, Secretary-General Baklai Temangil, and Frida Delmau.
Thereafter, the members moved into the discussions on eligibility, international federation rules and guidelines, and games proceedings.
After the adjournment of the session, the delegates met with members of the Republic of the Marshall Islands Parliament where they were acknowledged by the Honorable Senator and President of the Marshall Islands National Olympic Committee.
10th Micronesian Games – 185 days to go!
The Micronesian Games Organizing Committee presented their updates to the delegates with Transportation services, Food Safety and Catering, Games Village and Facilities, and Finance.
Day 2 of the meeting included presentations from the Health Services, Media and Publicity, and Public Safety Committees.
After initially being scheduled for 2022, the 10th edition of the Games, Majuro 2023 will be held from July 22 to August 1, 2023.
